Who Is Sitting at the Table This Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday.
It incorporates four of my favorite things in life all in one day: family, friends, food and football.
Thank you for following FXtra! We started our newsletter in June and have gradually built an audience.
I believe there is a need for plain-spoken, practical advice to working people who want a seat at the table and want to be heard.
Who Is Sitting at the Table This Thanksgiving?
Every day we face opponents in the form of big business and corporate interests who write their own rules without workers sitting across the table from them. They walk away with millions of dollars in compensation while working people wonder how they’re going to feed their families.
But when working people stand together to bargain for fair wages and decent benefits, our middle class gets stronger.
Like the fire fighters who put their lives on the line every day to keep our families safe. Or the sanitation workers who work the day after Thanksgiving and pick up our trash. Or our mail carriers who deliver our packages and letters over the holidays and throughout the year.
Thank you to you and to all working people and the generations who came before them and built this country brick by brick.
And thank you to the labor unions that represented them, which created the 40-hour work week, health care, retirement and paid holidays like Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your time off!
